Patience
Parents want to help their sons advance in scouting, but in some ways, this is contrary to how scouting is suppose to work. Boy Scouts is boy run and encourages all Scouts to work with older Scouts on their advancement.
Parents need to have patience and a willingness to let the scouting program work. It is important there scout participate in as many Troop activities as possible. Be supportive of your son and allow him to advance at his own pace. Participating in adult training will help you understand how the Scouting program works.
